Facade

Across the street from my building is this two-story brick facade covered by a blue tarp. I walk by it everyday on the way to my car. This past weekend, I noticed the gate was open so my friend and I decided to look. You can still see the white linoleum kitchen floor and the base of the staircase. There are empty cleaning products, a bbq, a deflated soccer ball, items the former renters left behind. It has been like this for months — this facade with a large white sign in front advertising the new condos.

I rarely photograph in my home, but when a friend of mine recently asked me to take his portrait for an art project I decided to set up some lights and a backdrop in my living room. I ended up leaving the lights set up and whenever people would stop by I photographed them. Here are a few of those shots.
